Sara Hall has had a long and lustrous career including time spent on the track with 1500m, 3000m running, road racing with multiple wins including the 2017 and 2018 of the Gold Coast Marathon’s Half Marathon race clocking at 1:09:27 in 2018 to set the current course record. Sara has also been a team member for USA for the World Cross Country Championships in 2006 and 2015 and was the 2012 American Cross Country Champion.
During this conversation Sara outlines her 3 Top Tips for Marathoners, how to minimise the risks leading up to a marathon with regards to injury and how a breakthrough can be on the other side of frustration. The concept of needing to absorb your training comes up on multiple occasions as does the concept that has really been a trademark of Sara’s pursuit of her running best over the years and that is the need to persevere. We touched on overcoming the fear of failure, juggling being a mum of four beautiful growing girls, the power of documenting goals visibly including a great story about Sara documenting her 2:22 PB in advance on her mirror and Sara shares around racing fearlessly.
